In the past week or there has been a lot of good news for Bitcoin. It is quickly progressing towards main-stream acceptance. A reccent post on reddit pointed out that goggle was considering using Bitcoin. Several news organizations also picked up on this. Main stream media sites like Forbes and Business Insider also picked up on this news. However, this news was quickly overshadowed by Tiger Direct announcing that they are now accepting Bitcoins! Also this week CNBC reported that Ebay and Paypal are considering using Bitcion! This mainstream progress is almost unprecedented. For those of us who would like to see Bitcoin continue to grow in mainstream use and popularity the time to act is now. I have started a twitter campaign, where as many users as possible and as often as possible we tweet to major companies requesting they start using Bitcoins. The purpose of this is not to annoy these companies, but to show our support, and highlight the great business opportunity for them. Feel free to expand this opp beyond twitter but all aspects of social media, as well as calling, e-mailing, etc to companies. Use the hashtag #acceptbitcoin so we can keep track of everything.
